The President of the Central Bank of Brazil, Roberto Campos Neto, has announced plans to expedite the regulation of asset tokenization and stablecoins by 2025. The bank will issue a new consultation this month to gather input on the rules for approving virtual asset service providers' (VASPs) operations in the country. Brazil aims to become a cryptocurrency hub in Latin America and clear regulations could attract international companies and provide certainty for existing ones. The country has already approved cryptocurrency regulation, granting the central bank authority to issue guidelines on the industry.
