The XRP community is speculating that a potential settlement in the Ripple lawsuit may be on the horizon as the U.S. SEC schedules its first closed-door meeting under new leadership. The meeting, which will be held on January 23, is expected to involve discussions on resolving litigation claims and settling administrative proceedings. XRP enthusiasts hope that the SEC, under acting chairman Mark Uyeda, will drop the Ripple case. However, former SEC official Marc Fagel dismissed these speculations, stating that the meeting is similar to regular weekly meetings and not likely to result in a monumental announcement. Acting Chairman Uyeda, who has been critical of the SEC's approach to crypto regulation, recently launched a new crypto task force to provide comprehensive regulatory frameworks for the industry. It remains uncertain whether he will actively work towards resolving the Ripple lawsuit.
