zkLend, a Starknet-based layer2 money-market protocol, has confirmed a hack resulting in the loss of over $9 million worth of Ethereum. The protocol is currently investigating the exploit, pausing all withdrawals until further notice. They have demanded that the hacker return 90% of the stolen funds, approximately 3,300 ETH, by a certain deadline or face legal consequences. The protocol has also enlisted the help of security firms and law enforcement to track and prosecute the perpetrator. If the funds are returned, the hacker will be released from all charges. zkLend is actively collaborating with various entities to identify the hacker.
