Skyfire, a payments platform founded by former Ripple developers, has raised $9.5 million in a seed funding round led by Coinbase Ventures and a16z's Crypto Startup Accelerator. The platform focuses on building a payment infrastructure for AI agents, allowing them to process transactions autonomously using USDC or traditional banking systems. Skyfire offers secure wallet access and verifiable identities to enable fully autonomous payments. It is now integrated with Base, Coinbase's Ethereum layer 2 blockchain, which provides low-cost payment rails. This funding brings Skyfire's total funding to $9.5 million and caters to the growing AI agent economy across industries.
