Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis believes that President-elect Donald Trump is assembling a pro-crypto cabinet and building an "army" to fight for Bitcoin. Lummis cited Trump's choice of cabinet members, including Elon Musk and Howard Lutnick, who have expressed support for digital assets. Trump has also promised to appoint an SEC chair who is supportive of cryptocurrencies. Lummis's comments were made in response to speculation about the United States creating a Bitcoin Treasury reserve, which has gained attention from various figures, including ex-CFTC boss Chris Giancarlo. Giancarlo argued that stockpiling Bitcoin is a forward-looking idea, similar to stockpiling other commodities.
