The scam involves the use of suspicious JavaScript code within the ads to identify users with crypto wallets and redirect them to a fake website impersonating Pudgy Penguins, an NFT collection. Once on the fake website, scammers can steal personal information or gain unauthorized access to victims' wallets. The security firm warns that this scam could be adapted to target other crypto projects and advises users to carefully check website URLs, use ad blockers, consider a separate browser for crypto activities, and double-check URLs before connecting wallets. This scam is part of a larger trend of exploiting Google Ads to deceive crypto users.
