The co-founders of Bitcoin privacy and coin mixing service Samourai, William Lonergan Hill and Keonne Rodriguez, are facing charges of conspiracy to launder money and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitter. They are accused of facilitating at least $100 million worth of money laundering transactions. In court proceedings, the duo requested a delay of their trial date to review discovery data, but the judge denied their request. The issue of whether Samourai controlled users' funds is a critical legal issue, and it will be decided in the Tornado Cash case by US District Court Judge Katherine Polk Failla. The decision will determine the outcome for Samourai's defense. If control is deemed a prerequisite for money transmission, it will benefit Samourai. If not, Samourai's argument that they never controlled users' funds will weaken.
