Ethereum multisig wallet provider Safe wallet is gradually restoring its services with improved security features following the $1.4 billion Bybit hack. Safe wallet will implement stricter validation measures, enhanced monitoring warnings, and more security checks to prevent similar exploits in the future. The phased rollout will begin within the next 24 hours. Safe wallet temporarily paused certain functionalities, including native Ledger integration, as the compromised signing method in the Bybit attack involved a Ledger device. Major blockchain entities have collaborated to respond to the hack, freezing a total of $42.89 million in stolen assets. Bybit is offering a 10% bounty, or $140 million, to security professionals and ethical hackers who aid in recovering the stolen coins.
