Ripple's CTO, David Schwartz, participated in Ripple's educational video series called "Crypto in a minute" and discussed the benefits of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. In the video, Schwartz emphasized the efficiency gains that tokenization can bring to various aspects of real estate ownership, such as proving ownership and selling the house in parts. Ripple recently published a blog post highlighting their intentions to participate in the RWA tokenization market using the XRP Ledger. They claim to offer unique advantages for tokenized RWA issuers by providing an easy token creation process and immediate trading on their decentralized exchange. Despite the promises in the market, regulatory challenges and the need for blockchain interoperability and safe ownership settlement remain hurdles for the full potential of RWA tokenization.
