A new study conducted by Bahçeşehir University and Siirt University in Turkey states that Tangle, a type of distributed ledger technology (DLT) used by networks like IOTA, is a better fit for the Internet of Things (IoT) industry than traditional blockchains. Tangle's use of a directed acyclic graph (DAG) structure allows for feeless transactions and eliminates the need for mining, making it more cost-effective for IoT devices that send numerous transactions daily. Tangle also offers high throughput, no lag, and energy efficiency, making it more suitable for IoT applications such as automated traffic lights. The study establishes IOTA as the industry leader in IoT. As of now, IOTA is trading at $0.1293 with a weekly rise of 6.3%.
