The popular tap-to-earn game, Hamster Kombat, has seen a decline in subscribers to its official Telegram channel as well as a drop in the price of its token, HMSTR. The subscriber count on the announcement channel fell from 60.7 million to 55 million in October, losing over 200,000 subscribers daily. Interest in the game has also decreased, as reflected by a sharp drop in search interest on Google Trends. The decline is attributed to community dissatisfaction with the airdrop campaign. Despite revealing a new roadmap for the game, players do not seem excited about upcoming plans. The price of HMSTR dropped over 8% and its market capitalization decreased from over $600 million to around $218 million. Other tap-to-earn tokens like Notcoin, Baby DogeCoin, and Catizen have also experienced significant drops in value. Overall, the tap-to-earn sector is facing challenges while meme coins and AI tokens continue to attract investor attention.
