Payments Blockchain Fuse has announced a significant upgrade to expand its ecosystem and improve scalability. The upgrade will involve moving to a modular architecture based on zkEVM and migrating to an L2 powered by the Polygon CDK. The upgrade, called Fuse Ember, will be implemented in multiple phases and will bring enhancements such as improved tokenomics, elimination of token inflation, and the ability to create apps that support private payments and confidential transactions. The upgrade will also increase modularity, allowing for more efficient resource allocation. In addition, Fuse plans to conduct a node sale where node licenses will be represented as NFTs. The company aims to become a highly adaptable L2 that supports DeFi, payments, and other use cases while staying connected to the larger EVM ecosystem.
