The enthusiasm for Bitcoin in decentralized finance (BTCFi) remains strong despite a stagnation in total value locked (TVL) since the start of 2025. Experts attribute BTCFi's growth to factors such as institutional investors seeking yield and the development of necessary infrastructure. The TVL of BTCFi surged from $800 million to $6.51 billion in the last quarter of 2024, allowing Bitcoin to become the third highest ranked in terms of TVL. However, the TVL has since declined to around $6.58 billion. Nevertheless, experts predict that BTCFi's TVL could triple in 2025, and the overall sentiment is that BTCFi is still in its early days with significant growth potential.
