eToro, a platform for retail clients to access crypto markets, has added five new cryptoassets to its platform: LayerZero, ZKsync, Pyth, EigenLayer, and Swell. These additions come after eToro (Europe) Ltd, a subsidiary of the platform, received approval from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). The new assets offer different functionalities such as communication between blockchains, real-time market data, and staking protocols. However, EigenLayer and Swell are classified as experimental assets with higher risks. To manage these risks, eToro has implemented limits on the value of positions users can open in experimental assets based on their eToro Club tier. The new cryptoassets are not available to users in the United States, UAE, Germany, or Australia. The CySEC permit allows eToro to operate under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), ensuring compliance with EU financial market regulations.
