Ethereum gaming network Ronin has launched an initiative called "Open Ronin," allowing any developer to build new games, decentralized applications, or other projects on its platform. Previously, Ronin operated as a curated blockchain, but with the Open Ronin push, it aims to accelerate its growth and attract more developers and creators. Ronin's RON token is now the second largest gaming chain token by market capitalization. Ronin is home to popular games like Pixels, Apeiron, and Axie Infinity. The platform has released the Ronin Developer Console to assist developers in building on the network. The goal is to eventually create an ecosystem that combines gaming with e-commerce and payment apps, disrupting the banking and credit card industries.
