The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has transferred $131 million to a multi-signature wallet to participate in the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. The move suggests that the EF aims to earn additional income through various DeFi protocols. The multi-sig address has previously interacted with the decentralized lending system, AAVE. Last month, the EF allocated 50,000 ETH to expand its presence in the DeFi sector, representing nearly a fifth of its total ETH holdings. The EF's founder, Vitalik Buterin, responded to accusations of neglecting DeFi by stating that applications need to be sustainable and revealed his frequent use of decentralized exchanges. The EF has also expressed a focus on attracting new talent.
