Spanish police have apprehended three British individuals for kidnapping a UK cryptocurrency broker in Costa del Sol. The captors demanded a ransom of €30,000 ($31,000) for the victim's release. Fortunately, the victim managed to escape by tricking his kidnappers into thinking he was asking a customer for a crypto wallet code, when in fact he alerted a friend who informed his mother and subsequently the authorities. The police had already located the apartment where the victim was held captive before he jumped from a balcony to escape, injuring himself in the process. When the criminals attempted to flee in an Audi, law enforcement intercepted them and confiscated cash, firearms, knives, drugs, and other valuables. The arrested men had previous criminal records in the UK, and authorities believe they targeted the victim after discovering his involvement in cryptocurrency through a chance encounter in Marbella.
