The computational difficulty of mining Bitcoin has increased by 5.61% at block height 883,008, reaching a historic peak of 114.17 trillion. This difficulty represents the level of computational rigor miners must overcome to validate transactions and create new blocks on the blockchain. The increase in difficulty follows a dip of 2.12% two weeks prior. Despite the decrease in hash rate, block intervals remain faster than the standard 10 minutes. Onchain transactional activity is currently low, with four blocks awaiting confirmation. The top mining pool, Foundry, dedicates a significant amount of hashes per second to the blockchain compared to individual miners with modest setups.
