A play entirely about Bitcoin was put on in New York for the first time. The play, written by CoinDesk crypto journalist and editor Ben Schiller, is filled with Bitcoiner humor and references that only those well-versed in the crypto world will understand. The audience, consisting of crypto journalists and enthusiasts, seemed to enjoy the play's jokes, even the cringiest ones. The play is loosely based on the stories of Charlie Shrem and Sam Bankman-Fried, with the main character named Charlie Schwagg. The real Charlie Shrem was in attendance, and the play revolves around Charlie's impending jail term and his mother's attempts to get him out of the US. The play also touches on topics like effective altruism, wealth, finance, free speech, and yoga. Despite its satirical nature, the camaraderie and support among the crypto community at the play were heartwarming.
