Cryptocurrency mining firm BIT Mining is expanding its operations in Ethiopia through the acquisition of data centers and Bitcoin mining equipment. The first phase of the plan, valued at $14.2 million, has been completed, with the company acquiring a 35 MW crypto mining data center and adding 17,869 Bitcoin mining machines. The next phase of expansion is expected to conclude by early 2025, with the acquisition of additional data centers. BIT Mining also announced that it will continue to merge mine Litecoin and Dogecoin, citing their recent surges in value as contributing factors.
