The former CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), has been ranked 16th on the "2024 Hengchang Shaofang Hurun Rich List" released by the Hurun Research Institute. Despite paying over $7 billion in fines in the past year, CZ's wealth is now valued at 135 billion yuan due to the increase in Bitcoin prices and overall growth in cryptocurrency trading volume. CZ, who recently served a four-month sentence for failing to implement proper anti-money laundering controls at Binance, is still the major shareholder in the company but is barred from any management involvement. CZ is set to attend the Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai, his first public appearance since his release from prison. Binance itself has experienced significant market growth, with a 112.2% surge in market volume over the past 24 hours.
