The Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) network, Base, has achieved another milestone as its annualized GDP surpassed $1 billion. The data from Token Terminal shows that user spending on Base reached a total of $110 million in January, with $96 million spent on apps and $14 million on L2 transaction fees. This significant surge in user spending signifies the growing adoption of dApps in the Base ecosystem. The market data also indicates a considerable growth of Base over the past 18 months, with the most substantial progress recorded in late 2024, leading to an all-time high spending in January. The platform is strengthening its position and expanding its ecosystem as it crosses the $1 billion GDP milestone.
