Art Blocks, a blockchain-based digital art platform, has made a significant advancement by configuring the mechanisms needed to view and enjoy 90% of its art pieces on the Ethereum blockchain itself. This means that even if Art Blocks ceases to operate, the artworks will still be accessible online. The majority of these pieces were created using programming tools like p5js and threejs, while the remaining 10% still require assistance from third-party tools. Art Blocks sees this achievement as a major leap forward and believes it represents a shift in how art can be created, collected, and preserved. While the platform will continue to rely on a centralized generator, making the works fully accessible on-chain aligns with its long-term mission of creating infrastructure for a new era in art history.
