Retail Bitcoin activity in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region is growing faster than in the U.S. and Europe, according to a research report by Gemini and Glassnode. The report analyzed transaction timestamps and found that retail activity in APAC has outpaced other regions since December 2022. While institutional investors have driven Bitcoin flows in the U.S., retail traders in APAC are leading the way outside of ETFs and exchanges. The launch of U.S. spot ETFs in January 2024 may have played a role in this trend, along with improved education and understanding of Bitcoin's asset class.
