Story Protocol, a platform that enables AI agents to trade intellectual property (IP) rights with each other, is aiming to address the concerns raised by artists about AI stealing their work. The system allows AI agents to register their work on Story's blockchain, with other agents able to purchase those assets using cryptocurrency. The platform handles licensing, rights management, and revenue distribution automatically through smart contracts. The CEO of Story Protocol, Seung-yoon Lee, explained that AI agents can generate assets that others can build upon, creating a business model where AI agents can sell their IP and others can use it freely. The platform has attracted attention from Hollywood, with screenwriter David Goyer registering a new sci-fi universe on Story, where revenue would be automatically split between the AI creator and the original IP holder. Story Protocol plans to launch its mainnet in the coming weeks and has already received significant interest from major venture-backed projects and other AI initiatives.
