Blockchain does not store any information in a central location. Instead, the blockchain is copied and spread across a computer network. When a new block is added to the blockchain, every computer on the network updates the blockchain to reflect the change. By spreading this information across a network rather than storing it in a single central database, it becomes more difficult to change the information. If a copy of the blockchain falls into the hands of a hacker, only one copy of the information is compromised rather than the entire network.
