Wintermute, a prominent market maker, has acquired tokens from top holders and become the third-largest whale of the bot-inspired sensation, GOAT. The token, which gained popularity through bot-generated lore, is experiencing increased trading activity. Wintermute's involvement with GOAT on Solana, a cheaper and faster platform, follows its previous engagement with NEIRO. The recent inflow of GOAT tokens into Wintermute's wallets was deliberate, with 10 million tokens transferred. GOAT has quickly risen to a market cap of $360 million but may not gain mainstream acceptance. The emergence of tokens based on hype, such as Gospodin, has led to the tokenization of various accounts, including those of influencers. Anonymous creators are targeting active online communities and prominent accounts to launch tokens, competing with carefully curated online personas. Pump.fun has created over 2.4 million tokens, but the majority are expected to fail. The recent batch of tokens seeks out viral or promising content rather than creating content to boost their social media presence.
