Matt Hougan, CIO at Bitwise Asset Management, has stated that altcoins are struggling despite the growing acceptance of cryptocurrencies on Wall Street and regulatory changes under President Donald Trump. While Bitcoin has seen significant gains, most altcoins have not kept up, with the exception of Solana and XRP. Hougan believes that the lack of a major new application driving altcoin adoption is a key challenge. However, he believes that the foundation for an altcoin resurgence is stronger than ever, citing regulatory clarity and the development of crypto applications by institutions. He predicts that the next alt season is coming in the next year or two.
