US Presidential Campaigns: 49% of Retail Investors Adjust Portfolios Ahead of Polls

A recent survey conducted by eToro found that nearly half of American retail investors are adjusting their portfolios in preparation for the upcoming US presidential election. The study revealed that 42% of respondents are increasing their cash reserves, 35% are buying more stocks, and 20% are venturing into cryptocurrencies. Younger investors, particularly Gen Z and Millennials, are more proactive in adjusting their portfolios compared to older generations, with Millennials being twice as likely as Boomers to make changes. The top-held sectors among retail investors are financial services, technology, and energy, with a willingness among the youngest and oldest investors to invest in tech despite recent volatility. Among high-profile technology companies, Amazon is the most popular, while Tesla is the least favored.
