The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched an investigation into the Solana (SOL)-based memecoin LIBRA, which has been accused of being a scam. The investigation will look into the involvement of prominent figures like Argentine President Javier Milei, Uniswap CEO Hayden Adams, and KIP Protocol co-founder Julian Peh in the project, as well as whether LIBRA is a fraudulent activity. Other agencies like the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, and Securities and Exchange Commission may also be involved in the investigation. The investigation comes after a criminal complaint was filed by an Argentinian law firm and the Argentine Senate requested a report on the president's connections to LIBRA.
