The Agglayer project, a modular cross-blockchain ecosystem developed by Polygon (POL), has reached a major milestone with the launch of its testnet v0.2. The testnet will focus on implementing pessimistic proofs to connect heterogeneous blockchains through Agglayer. This development is crucial for enabling secure value transfer between different elements of Agglayer. The official mainnet launch is scheduled for early 2025. In addition, the Agglayer team has hinted at the possibility of Solana (SOL) joining its mechanism, and the project aims to cater to various use cases including DeFi, gaming-centric blockchains, and RWAs. The new ecosystem will also support AI and data-heavy dApps across different chains.
