Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange platform, has announced its support for Berachain (BERA), a rival of Ethereum, on various services including Binance Simple Earn, Binance Convert, Binance Margin, Binance Auto-Invest, and Binance Futures. Berachain uses a proof-of-liquidity (PoL) consensus mechanism instead of the traditional proof-of-stake (PoS) system, which rewards validators for providing liquidity to the blockchain ecosystem. Following the announcement, the price of BERA surged by 89% but has since retraced and is currently trading at $9.22.
