Metaplanet completes its 11th stock acquisition rights, securing ¥10B to purchase BTC

Metaplanet, a Japanese investment company, has raised 10 billion yen ($66.2 million) through its 11th stock acquisition rights sale. The funds will be used to purchase more Bitcoin as the company aims to become a leading holder of the cryptocurrency. The sale involved over 13,000 investors, including BlackRock. Metaplanet's CEO, Simon Gerovich, announced that all stock acquisition rights were exercised and thanked investors for their support. The company has been actively buying Bitcoin since May 2024 and currently holds 861.4 BTC. They recently made a transaction worth 107 BTC, ranking them among the top three Bitcoin holders in the Asia Pacific region. Additionally, Metaplanet earned 23.97 BTC from selling put options to QCP Capital and credited Microstrategy's CEO, Michael Saylor, for inspiring their entry into the crypto market.
