Litecoin’s Long-Term Holders Rank 2nd Only to Bitcoin, Beating Ethereum

Litecoin (LTC) has surpassed Ethereum (ETH) in terms of the longest average holding period, indicating sustained appeal among long-term investors. Bitcoin (BTC) still leads in this metric, with an average HODL time of 4.4 years. Litecoin's average HODL time is 2.6 years, while ETH, Dogecoin (DOGE), and Shiba Inu (SHIB) all have an average holding period of 2.4 years. Memecoins like DOGE and SHIB share similar holding times to ETH. Other top digital assets have varying average HODL times, with Tether (USDT) and Avalanche (AVAX) having the lowest at 8.9 months and 7.7 months, respectively. The surge in Litecoin's average HODL time is attributed to the potential launch of a Litecoin ETF, with expectations of approval in 2025.
