Chainlink CCIP Powers Cross-Chain $ETH Staking for Lido Consumers on L2 Networks

Lido Finance, the largest liquid staking protocol, has integrated Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). This integration allows users to stake Ethereum (ETH) directly from Layer 2 (L2) networks such as Arbitrum and Optimism. The integration, called Direct Staking, enables users to bypass the need for Ethereum mainnet transfers and offers convenient access and reduced transfer costs. CCIP's programmability eliminates friction in acquiring Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) on L2 networks and leverages Lido's liquidity pool mechanism to provide wstETH tokens reflecting the staking yield of Ethereum. This integration also expands staking options and token support for other protocols, aligning with Chainlink's mission to advance cross-chain capabilities in the DeFi sector.
