Hamster Kombat backlash: why users are boycotting one of the most-hyped crypto games

Hamster Kombat, a popular tap-to-earn game on Telegram, has allocated its native token, HMSTR, to users ahead of its official airdrop. However, the token allocation details have caused disappointment and upset among players. The team announced that out of the total supply of 100 billion HMSTR tokens, 60% will be available to users during the airdrop, with the rest becoming vested and available after ten months. 131 million qualified players will receive tokens, while 2.3 million cheaters have been banned from receiving tokens. Many users have expressed dissatisfaction with the token distribution process and criteria, as they received fewer tokens than expected. Additionally, the value of the tokens remains uncertain due to pre-market trading on different exchanges. The announcement has led to a wave of negativity, with the hashtag #boycotthamsterkombat trending on social media. Despite the controversy, the airdrop is still expected to be one of the largest in the crypto space, and users will receive their tokens this week.
