Asian Bitcoin Advocate Charges Japan to Acquire 167,000 BTC

Samson Mow, the CEO of JAN3 and a prominent Bitcoin evangelist, has urged the Japanese government to acquire 167,000 BTC tokens. Mow made the plea during a Bitcoin and Layer 2 session in Japan, which aimed to promote Bitcoin adoption on a state level. He argued that Japan's love for hard assets should extend to the largest cryptocurrency. Mow also met with Japan's Minister of State for Financial Services to discuss Bitcoin adoption and the potential of storing it as a strategic reserve. While Japan has been open to digital innovation, recent regulations have hindered the growth of the crypto sector. In contrast, countries like El Salvador and Bhutan have embraced Bitcoin, with the former buying one BTC every day and the latter becoming the second country to officially hold the cryptocurrency.
