The European Union (EU) is introducing a Digital Product Passport (DPP) to enhance product sustainability and transparency. VeChain's technology will play a significant role in supporting companies in meeting these compliance standards with blockchain solutions. The DPP aims to provide detailed information about each product, including its origins, environmental impact, and disposal guidance. While not currently mandatory, the EU plans to make DPP implementation obligatory by 2027. The DPP requirements are part of the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which addresses the environmental footprint of consumer goods. VeTonsberg, a London-based partner of VeChain, offers blockchain solutions to help businesses meet these compliance standards. The company emphasizes the importance of supply chain transparency and sees the DPP as setting a stage for global traceability and sustainability. Other countries around the world are also implementing similar transparency measures, and VeTonsberg's offerings align with these regulatory shifts.
