Coinbase has announced that Coinbase Wallet users holding USDC can earn a 4.7% APY. However, Arthur Hayes, the co-founder of Bitmex, took to social media to promote USDE's much higher 29% APY. Some users criticized Hayes for comparing the two options, pointing out the potential risks involved in staking USDE. Hayes responded with dismissive and derogatory remarks. The clash between convenience and high-risk returns in the crypto space is reminiscent of past incidents such as the collapse of the Terra blockchain and Anchor's failed promise of a 20% APY.
