Wiz Khalifa’s Twitter allegedly hacked to promote scam coin

Wiz Khalifa's Twitter account was hacked by scammers who promoted a fraudulent coin to his followers. Crypto community members quickly alerted others about the hack, emphasizing that the account had been compromised. This incident follows a similar hack on Andy Ayrey's Twitter account, where scammers used it to promote a fraudulent meme token and conduct a pump-and-dump scheme. The hackers utilized a SIM swap to gain control of Ayrey's account and succeeded in boosting the market cap of the promoted token to $25 million within hours. They were able to sell their tokens and make $602,500 in just 45 minutes before the posts were deleted. This hack had a negative impact on Ayrey's portfolio and the meme coin market, with GOAT, a Solana-based meme coin, experiencing a 34.5% price drop. This incident highlights growing concerns about the security of high-profile crypto accounts and the tactics used by hackers to exploit them.
