Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick has made the creation of a state-level Bitcoin reserve a top legislative priority. The state is already a major Bitcoin mining hub and may also allow Bitcoin donations. Other states, including Florida, Ohio, North Dakota, and Wyoming, are also considering establishing their own Bitcoin treasuries. Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming plans to prioritize public hearings on implementing a federal Bitcoin reserve as the chair of a new Senate subcommittee on digital assets.
