Cardano’s Plomin Hard Fork Goes Live, Ushering in On-Chain Governance
Cardano has activated its Plomin upgrade, which marks a significant step towards a decentralized governance system for the blockchain. With this upgrade, ADA token holders will have the ability to shape Cardano's future by participating in voting on treasury measures and hard forks. The Plomin upgrade includes the implementation of Delegate Representatives (dReps) who will vote on governance issues on behalf of token holders, replacing the previous governing entities. Stake Pool Operators needed to approve the upgrade with a 51% vote, and approximately 85% of nodes have already upgraded. The community is now focusing on making Cardano faster, adding privacy features, and increasing utility for developers.
