Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Marks Big Milestone

Ross Ulbricht, the creator of Silk Road, a notorious darknet marketplace, has shared an update from his prison cell. He mentioned that he has reached a milestone of spending 4,000 days in prison and will enter his 12th year soon. Ulbricht expressed his desire to change and grow as a person and mentioned that he is ready to make amends if given the chance as a free man. The cryptocurrency community showed support and wished for his release. The resolution of Ulbricht's fate may come in November, depending on the U.S. elections. The Silk Road was shut down in 2013 after two years of operation, and Ulbricht started serving two lifetime sentences. Despite his initial intentions, the platform became associated with the sale of drugs and illegal goods. The crypto community believes Ulbricht was unjustly sentenced and often compares his case to that of Sam Bankman-Fried, former CEO of FTX exchange, who received a 25-year sentence for defrauding investors.
