Ripple's Middle East and Africa Managing Director, Reece Merrick, has praised the UAE for its role in driving global crypto adoption. He highlighted the country's progressive regulations, blockchain advancements, and government backing as key factors in positioning the region as a global hub for digital assets by 2025. Merrick also emphasized the growth of stablecoins in the UAE and their impact on facilitating faster and more inclusive financial systems. He also mentioned the importance of digital asset custody and the tokenization of assets in the region, predicting widespread blockchain adoption in the banking sectors of Middle Eastern and North African countries by 2025. Overall, Merrick sees the UAE as a central player in reshaping traditional banking models and strengthening regional financial systems through the integration of blockchain and stablecoins.
