Pierre Poilievre, a pro-bitcoin candidate, is favored by Bitcoin influencers to assume Justin Trudeau's position as Canada's next prime minister. Binary options websites, Polymarket and Kalshi, show different betting rates for Poilievre's chances, with Polymarket reporting an 89% rate in his favor. Poilievre has gained endorsements from influential figures in the crypto space and has used Bitcoin talking points in his political rhetoric. He aims to create a friendlier regulatory environment for digital assets, including a unified regulatory framework for securities regulation. Poilievre blames Trudeau for inflation and promises to support hard money standards like bitcoin. Elon Musk has endorsed Poilievre and shared a TikTok video of him talking to working-class Canadians.
