‘More rogue than Gensler’ – Ripple’s CLO calls out SEC’s Crenshaw

Ripple's Chief Legal Officer (CLO), Stuart Alderoty, has caused controversy by calling US SEC Commissioner Caroline Crenshaw "even more rogue than Gensler." Alderoty criticized Crenshaw for her anti-crypto stance and her insistence that a court ruling on Bitcoin spot ETFs was wrong. The housing and urban affairs committee is set to vote on Crenshaw's continued role as an SEC commissioner. Meanwhile, data shows that newly launched Bitcoin ETFs now hold more than 1.1 million BTC, surpassing the holdings of Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin's price is up 130% year-to-date and is currently trading at an average of $97,617. As Crenshaw faces a Senate Banking Committee hearing on her re-nomination, crypto lobbying groups are urging lawmakers to reject her, citing her strong anti-crypto stance. Some senators, such as Sherrod Brown, support stricter crypto regulations, while others, like Tim Scott, have urged President Biden to withdraw pending nominations.
