CandleFocus ITC CEO Shows Gold Has Been a Better Investment Than XRP Since 2018, But Here are the Facts

The CEO of Into The Cryptoverse, Benjamin Cowen, compared the performance of gold and XRP since 2018, stating that gold has been a better investment. This sparked a debate among crypto proponents, with some arguing that Bitcoin is a more superior asset. An anonymous XRP supporter countered Cowen's claims by suggesting that Bitcoin's volatility and crashes make it an unreliable store of value. Cowen responded by highlighting XRP's 45% loss against gold over the past seven years. However, a more accurate assessment of XRP's performance against gold shows a 65% decline in value. Despite this, XRP has outperformed gold significantly since its launch in 2013, surging over 19,000%. It is worth noting that Bitcoin has seen even greater growth, outshining both XRP and gold by a much larger margin. XRP's underperformance since 2018 is attributed to regulatory challenges, particularly the SEC's lawsuit against Ripple. With regulatory clarity improving, XRP is slowly recovering but still has a long way to go.
