How many Shiba Inu coins are there?

The Shiba Inu (SHIB) coin, often called the "Dogecoin killer," has gained popularity and has become one of the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market cap. It was created in 2020 as an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, giving it access to DeFi and related services. Initially, it had a token supply of 1 quadrillion, the largest in the world at that time. However, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin burned 410 trillion tokens, and the community has also burned a significant portion of the supply to make it deflationary. The current circulating supply is around 589 trillion SHIB tokens. The future supply and burns will play a role in the price of the project, and it does not have a fixed supply like Bitcoin. The largest holders are decentralized exchanges and wallets associated with community initiatives, with Vitalik Buterin also holding a significant amount.
