The Ethereum mega-upgrade, Prague-Electra (Pectra), will be tested on the Holesky testnet starting on February 24th and on the Sepolia testnet in early March. The stress-tests on these testnets will determine when the mainnet activation of Pectra will take place. Ethereum Foundation's Tim Beiko shared the timeline for the testnet activation and highlighted the importance of updating software clients for node operators. The Pectra upgrade aims to enhance Ethereum accounts, improve the validator experience, and scale the blob space. It is considered the largest upgrade in the history of the Ethereum blockchain. Security researchers can participate in a competition for hackers with a $2 million bounty from the Ethereum Foundation.
