Singapore’s Temasek: Trump would not be good for world economy, financial markets

Singaporean investment firm Temasek has expressed concerns over the impact of a potential Donald Trump victory on the global economy. Temasek's chief investment officer, Rohit Sipahimalani, argues that while Trump's policies may initially appeal to markets, they could lead to long-term strain on international growth. Sipahimalani believes that a Trump victory could strengthen the US dollar, raise interest rates, and introduce tariffs, all of which could negatively impact emerging markets and deter global investment. In contrast, some pro-Trump investors and figures like Elon Musk believe that his policies would benefit the economy and industries such as crypto. Temasek warns of potential "tail risks" and turbulence for global investors and businesses depending on the election outcome.
